We’re at it again! We’ve teamed up with Women Communicators of Austin (WCA) to provide affordable healthcare to its members. The WCA is a non-profit organization and one of the largest professional organizations in Austin. Its members work in all sorts of cool professional roles, from journalism and marketing to internal communications, content strategy, and more!

Jenny Magic, WCA Board President, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating:

“Our self-employed members regularly express frustration about the rising cost of health care coverage. Giving our members access[3] to affordable health care through this partnership with Decent is an incredible benefit and aligns with our mission to help support the careers of our members.”

This newest partnership is another step in the direction of our mission to provide freelancers with comprehensive, affordable health care options. As more Americans leave traditional employment and opt instead to be their own boss, Decent wants to be there to support them. Finding solid health care is often a barrier to making this leap, so we’re trying to crush that barrier by making our plans available to those who need it most.Under the partnership, Decent’s lowest-premium Bronze and Silver plans will be available at a special discounted rate to self-employed WCA members of which include[4] freelancers, contractors, consultants, sole proprietors, and others among the “1099 labor force”.

The best news? Our plans are Affordable Care Act (ACA)-compliant and are built around a Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. In super simple terms, that means our plans enable free access to a primary care physician. Know what else is rad? Our plans offer year-round open enrollment (no waiting until the November-December open enrollment season), premiums up to 50 percent below market rate for comparable plans, and unlimited and free access to same-day appointments.
