Nice + Decent FAQ

Decent updates

What is happening, and why?

Decent is merging with Nice Healthcare (Nice) to operate as one company under the Nice brand. All full-time employees at both companies will be joining forces to pursue our shared mission: to make healthcare built around primary care more affordable and accessible for everyone. We believe that by combining our strengths, we can move faster, reach more people, and deliver even higher-quality care.

What is Decent?

Decent is a healthcare technology company that builds self-funded employer health plans around world-class Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinics - including Nice - and partners with benefits brokers to help employers, employees, and their families get better health coverage at lower cost.

What is Nice Healthcare?

Nice is an integrated primary care clinic that offers in-home and virtual services across the U.S., including primary care, labs, X-rays, mental health, physical therapy, prescription medications, and more. They partner with benefits brokers to offer employers healthcare that’s accessible, personal, and typically free at the point of service for covered members. Nice currently offers care in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin, and is quickly expanding to new states.

Does Nice Healthcare provide Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

From Decent’s perspective, yes. While there’s no official definition of DPC, Nice meets the two criteria Decent has always used: patients can see the same primary care provider every time, and care is delivered for a flat monthly fee with no additional cost at the point of service. While Nice isn’t an independent brick-and-mortar DPC, we remain part of the same movement.

What does this mean for employers and members on Decent plans?

Nothing changes immediately. Your existing plan stays the same, and so does your access to care. At the conclusion of your existing plan year, you will not be able to renew on a Decent plan. We're bringing our expertise in care management to the Nice ecosystem and expect to offer expanded services and new options soon.

What does this mean for DPC clinics working with Decent?

Nothing changes immediately. DPC clinics will continue to support Decent members. At the conclusion of employers’ existing plan years, they will have the option to continue working directly with DPC clinics. Over time, we expect to have additional opportunities to work with independent brick-and-mortar DPCs.

What does this mean for brokers working with Decent?

Nothing changes immediately. We remain committed to brokers as our primary growth channel. We’d be happy to introduce you to Nice’s current offerings. Over time, we expect to offer brokers even more value through expanded services and reach.

What does this mean for Decent’s other plan partners?

Nothing changes immediately. Other plan partners will continue to support Decent members. Over time, we expect to offer enhanced services and deeper integration opportunities.

What’s next?

We’re working to finalize integration while keeping service seamless. In the months ahead, we’ll be exploring new offerings and will share updates as they become available.
